They’re a fantastic way to instantly jazz up your iPhone!

To bring you the best in terms of protection and style, we tend to keep a close watch on what’s hot and what’s not in the world of smartphones and tablets.  Here’s a quick rundown of our five fave phones of the year so far.

Have we got it wrong?  Have we missed your new phone? Let us know.

Samsung Galaxy S4

What’s the deal? You could hardly have missed the launch of this all-singing, all-dancing smartphone from Samsung earlier this year. Gaming, videos, browsing – the S4 covers gets top marks for the lot. This is currently the most powerful mobile out there and has set a pretty high benchmark for its competitors.

Who’s it for? Tech fans love it of course – as does anyone who wants the biggest and brightest device out there!

What about protection? Let’s face it, if you own an S4 you’re entitled to showcase it. Share videos and photos with this custom-designed leather-effect Galaxy S4 stand case from Mobile Madhouse.

Nokia Lumia 620

What’s the deal? Technically a budget phone but with the type of features you’d expect to see on something a lot more expensive. It’s a pleasure to navigate; boasts a sharp 3.8 inch screen and packs a pretty decent 5 mp camera.

Who’s it for? Want a decent smartphone without breaking the bank? This is definitely worth a closer look.  This is a ‘fun’ phone but with a highly respectable spec. The Windows operating system also makes it extremely easy to use.

What about protection? Nokia supplies the 620 with a choice of colourful back panels. Look after your mobile without disguising it thanks to this clear Nokia 620 hard case

Nokia Lumia 925

What’s the deal? Two Nokia phones in the list? (Apologies but we just couldn’t let this phone go uncommented on!) The display matches anything out there and you get one of the best cameras available on any model. The Nokia Maps app is pretty useful too.

Who’s it for? Some of the flagship mobiles out there can be rather ‘fiddly’ to use. If this is what’s putting you off signing up for a top-end smartphone, you should seriously consider a Windows-based model. With nice big tiles, smooth scrolling and a common-sense layout, you should find that finding your way around this phone comes as second nature. Texting and typing is intuitive too.

What about protection? This phone certainly takes up its fair share of room in your pocket or bag. Why not combine a support system with a wallet – courtesy of this Nokia 925 wallet case from Mobile Madhouse.

HTC One Mini

What’s the deal? Sometimes when a ‘mini’ version of a top-end phone comes out, the results can be a little bit disappointing. Not with this model though. Released in the UK this week, the HTC One Mini features a sharp display, the same 4-megapixel camera as its big brother the HTC One and the same Android interface.

Who’s it for? Anyone looking for a ‘pocket-friendly’ version of the HTC One (in terms of size and price) without compromising too much on performance.

What about protection? That sleek aluminium rear panel can slip out of your hands all too easily. Check out this HTC One Mini purple gel case for a cool way to keep tight hold of this smart device!

Sony Xperia Z

What’s the deal? Featuring a 5-inch crystal-clear screen and a powerful processor, this mobile was the subject of the first big launch of the year. It remains equally as impressive seven months down the line. It’s powerful, good-looking and even waterproof for up to 30 minutes. What’s not to like?

Who’s it for? Dedicated music and video fans are going to love this phone. The sharp, high-def display is among the best out there.

What about protection? The phone’s completely clad in glass. It’s certainly smooth and  glossy. The downside though is that it has a tendency to pick up smudges and fingerprints. That screen deserves something special in terms of protection as well! Make sure you’ve got everything covered with this sleek, leather-look Sony Xperia Z flip.

The year’s far from over. We’ve got the iPhone 5S and the rumoured iPhone 5 Light to look forward to in the next couple of months. We’re also looking forward to seeing the new Kindle go head to head with the upgraded Nexus 7. Fans of the big touchscreen will no doubt be interested in the Galaxy Note 3 rumoured for September.

Rest assured, here at Mobile Madhouse we’ll be hot off the blocks with some top-notch support systems for all of these models.
